Standard Specification

Timber beams laminated from LB grade North European whitewood (redwood can be used but it is not
commercially available in quantity for the grade
required). Horizontally laminated using 40mm thick
laminates glued with either polyurethane or resorcinol
fortified melamine or phenol resorcinol adhesive - all of
which
conform to EN 301 WBP type 1 classification.
Surface finish clean planed. Treated with a coat of oil
based water and dirt repellent.

Production & Quality Control

The glulam is manufactured in accordance with
BS EN386. The finger joints are produced in
accordance with BS EN385. The glulam is produced
under strict quality control. Derix carry out quality
control tests and procedures as defined by the
following Institutions:

(1) 'Otto Graf Institute' (Official Institute appointed by
the German Government who send inspectors once a
year without warning to inspect the quality of the materials/labour/production process).

(2) 'Dutch Komo Certificate' (Who operate in a similar
manner to the Otto Graf Institute but carry out two
visits per year)

(3) 'Studiengemeinschaft Holzleimbau EV'
(Superior Quality Award Granted).
